Even though I’m usually not that fond of online petitions and the like, I think that something like the “Free Burma” initiative could actually help raise enough awareness to impact something.
What’s going on in Burma is absurdly wrong, and while the pictures of protests are gone from the titles of the world’s newspapers already, there’s still major shit going down there, if you’ll excuse my foray into the colloquial. Monks and other pro-democracy protesters are being herded off to prisons by the thousands, and as you can expect from a military-dictatorship, there won’t be anything like a fair trial there.
