On Saturday, we also went and saw the Sophie Scholl movie. It’s a brilliantly acted movie, and contrary to what some people might fear, not at all filled with pathos.
The great thing about the movie is, that it not only sports a great lead actress, German newcomer Julia Jentsch, but also a bunch of extremely good supports. For example the interrogator, German actor Gerald Alexander Held, whose questioning of Sophie Scholl is something like the central point of the movie, is hauntingly good. I don’t want to put any spoilers in here, in case you’re going to watch the movie yourself – which you should – but be prepared to be overwhelmed.
