I've been a fan of Sheldon Solomon ever since I saw this short video of him explaining the conundrum of living in a capitalist society and how it relates to our sense of self-worth, or self-esteem.
I subsequently bought the book he co-wrote with two colleagues called "The Worm at the Core", which focuses on his theory that everything we do is based on our fear of death. It's a compelling read and you should get it.
And recently I discovered that he did a 2 1/2 hr. interview with Lex Fridman, and this interview really showcases why he's such a treasure. It's long, but feels like a breeze. Do watch it, even if you don't think you have the time.
