#booklog: Fever House

Friends, an admission before I start: I had planned on reading a whole lot more fiction this year, and so far, I failed. A small amount was read instead. But, in order to motivate myself to actually finish books, I've decided to add a #booklog to my various logs (films, links and photos).

I'm starting with "Fever House" by Keith Rosson. A horror novel I learned about from the Twitter account of the bard of Bangor, Stephen King. A recommendation I couldn't ignore, because I very much like the writings of said bard, and trust the man's judgement.

And he wasn't wrong. Aptly titled, the book starts off at a feverish pace, and simply never stops. It's about obsession, the devil, government agencies abducting folks to black sites and the obviously quite awful results of this combination.

I finished the book today and was happy to learn that it's not only the first of a duology, but that the sequel has in fact been published already. A testament to how much I liked "Fever House" that I will momentarily finish writing this post so I can start reading said sequel, intriguingly titled "The Devil By Name".
