Gone for some

For the next five days, I’ll be on an excursion through the nether world of medieval Carinthia.

Naturally, I’ll be more or less offline. You can resume addressing your parchments to me on Sunday.

Farewell, and have a good week.

None

An ad for a program against illiteracy, taking up the whole of yesterday’s front page on our daily.

At first glance, I thought the printer had fucked it up.

The Road to Guantanamo

We went and saw The Road to Guantanamo last Saturday.

It’s a drama/documentary about and with the Tipton Three, which are three UK citizens who were held in Guantanamo Bay for two years, then released, and not charged with anything at all.

There were a lot of things that went through my mind during the film, and just as I suspected, I’m not able to put them into words now.

Let’s just say that the world would be a better place if more money were given to people like Michael Winterbottom, and less to people like Paris Hilton.

Relax, it’s only a ghost

I’ve never really liked German indie guitar-pop band Tocotronic. I’m not sure why, but I think it was their rather overt pretentiousness. Well, I’ve now fallen victim to actually liking a song by Phantom/Ghost, a side-project by Tocotronic lead Dirk von Lowtzow.

The song’s really quite simple and a bit silly as well, but somehow I like it. I’m not sure why, but I guess it’s its overt pretentiousness.

So, without further ado, here’s the link to the band’s media page, where you can not only download the song in question (”Relax, it’s only a ghost”), but also the accompanying music-video, which is a haunting little gem as well (pun fully intended). Enjoy, and relax, ’cause, you know.
